Spread Hope is a ministry, which seeks out opportunities to help bring restoration to broken homes, broken communities, and broken individuals. Like the Apostle Paul, we do not consider ourselves adequate in ministry (2 Corinthians 3:5), so we prayerfully seek wisdom from God on how we might serve those who have fallen victim to natural disasters and socio-economic adversity. If we cannot provide physical assistance, then we pray to God and ask for His assistance through other means.
Hurricane Katrina Relief [ Gulf Coast ]
Since August 2005, God continues to open opportunities for Spread Hope to serve the families who continue to be victims of Hurricane Katrina. Through October 2006, we have now sent over 25 teams of various sizes (4-15 volunteers) to help families rebuild their homes and communities. We donŐt question their decision to live in an area where hurricanes are a possibility. Instead, we recognize their burdens are an opportunity for us to share the love of Christ (Galatians 6:2). Even though mainstream media has reduced its coverage of this area, we continue to seek new families to serve. AIDS Orphanage [South Africa ]
Another area of ministry for Spread Hope is located at an AIDS orphanage in South Africa. In July 2005, we sent our first team of 16 people to minister for 2 weeks to minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of these forgotten, beautiful children. Our most recent team spent 2 weeks in August 2006 with the same orphanage. Our hope for 2007 is that we might be able to send 2 different teams to provide assistance and share the love of Christ to those who might never experience it otherwise.
