God allowed me to lead my first person to salvation…it was amazing. After we prayed one last time together she looks at me and says, “I’m ready to go home.” I told her I understand, it was hot and she was tired, she looked at me and said, “No, I’m ready to go home to my real father, the one I have not yet met.” Now I had been doubting myself before this trip even got started. I did not believe that I was worthy enough because of my past or experienced enough because I am new to this way of Life with Jesus as my Savior. There was 125 people that showed up for this mission trip from all around the US…From the time that we unloaded our luggage in our rooms, you could feel the change. I have never felt the type of love acceptance, encouragement and the power of Jesus in one room then I did at that moment. We went to the promenade with the group and we sang, Mr. Jerry spoke told us a little bit about what we were getting ourselves into and the next day we got up and we were thrown into New York. It is beautiful there but they don’t show what’s actually in the streets. There is so much loss, anger, hopelessness that you see in so many people that it weighs heavy on your heart. I honestly don’t know if I was a blessing to the people there but I know they were a blessing to me. I’m so glad I got to experience this…I could talk about this trip for days.
