For more than 20 years, Jim Thomas lived life on the road, performing across the country with the band Say So. But in 2001, Jim realized that he was spending less of his free time in music and more studying theology, so after years of traveling, he and his wife Kim settled in Nashville, TN, and founded The Village Chapel. What began as a Sunday night service for itinerant musicians has now grown into a thriving, multigenerational church that prioritizes Scripture and hospitality.

In this interview, Jim reflects on his transition from musician to pastor, the unexpected skills that ministry has demanded, and the unique role his church plays in a city filled with artists and creatives.
