Board Room Dedication, Jeffrey K. Riber
There are some people in our lives that we aspire to be like… Passionate about their faith, full of wisdom, encouraging, innovative… Jeff Riber was one of those people. Here at Spread Truth, he was one of our most engaged and long running board members we’ve ever had. He passed away last year on August 13, 2015, after an 8 month battle with cancer.
On Sunday, September 18, 2016, his family joined us from Jacksonville, Florida here at the Spread Truth office in Bloomington, Illinois to dedicate our conference room in his honor.
It was just 2 years ago that Jeff was here in Bloomington at our 2014 fundraising banquet. He appeared to be in great health, but just a few months later he would find out he had a rare form of liver cancer. From the diagnosis, he would only be with us for 8 more months as the cancer was aggressive and the treatments for this rare form were not readily available.
We served here together at Spread Truth with a common mission, to bring a message of hope to the world. It’s a true story about eternal life and the love of Jesus and the incredible grace He gives. It’s the Gospel Story that Jeff fully embraced.
Jeff has left a legacy here at Spread Truth and with his children and children’s children that Jesus is the reason we live and the center of our lives. Jeff now rejoices and is in glory with our Heavenly Father.
We are thankful for the time we had with our dear friend and incredible board member. We will remember his legacy and his faithful work as a major component of what God is doing here at Spread Truth. Because of that legacy, many will hear the message of hope that comes through Christ alone.
May we all live a life that reflects our King.
