Overcoming Fear and Uncertainty
Imagine this:
You take your dog to a local dog park every day. Since you tend to go about the same time, you’ve come to recognize several other people who walk their dogs after work, and one is a young man from Lebanon. Over time, you get the chance to connect personally. English is his second language, so it’s work to communicate, but he’s eager to practice and you have several things in common. On your part, you’d love to share your faith, but you’re not sure how to begin, and you’re fearful that will end the friendship and that the daily visits to the dog park will get awkward.
Fear and uncertainty in evangelism aren’t new–and I promise you’re not the only one who struggles with it. But that’s why we are launching a fresh rebuild of The Story app–a way to share the gospel in video format right from your phone. It’s not complicated, either! Let me show you.
When I first open The Story App, I see a simple cover page.
At the top right, I can select from a number of translations the language that the person best speaks. In this case, I can choose Arabic for my friend from Lebanon.
From there, I simply swipe through The Story’s main points!
If language barriers are still a major issue, or you sense that the person isn’t ready for a conversation, you can simply share The Story Film link for them to watch on their own–once again in their heart language. From the main page, you can click on the top left icon and choose “share.”
You would choose Arabic as the language, and you can either send a link to their socials or email, or they can scan the QR code that pops up.
It’s honestly as simple as that. You can’t carry a hard copy of multiple translations of The Story of God’s salvation in your pocket–but you can on your phone. It’s the gospel to the nations right in your hand! And, of course, you can explore some of the other features of the app on your own–all completely FREE!
So where are you meeting the nations, and where can you use this gospel tool? Maybe you teach a children’s class, or you have another natural point of connection in your community. Consider the people already in your life. Do they know that God has sent a Rescuer?

Plan to start a conversation and pray for God to go before you.
