Do you remember those old cartoons, The Flintstones and The Jetsons? The Flintstones lived in a world of simplicity.
The Jetsons, however, looked to the future set in the year 2063; it was a cartoon filled with flying cars, video screens, and advanced technology.
Now in 2025, we may not have flying cars (yet), but we do have something just as extraordinary: the ability to talk face-to-face with someone halfway across the world. Every time I connect with Pastor Solomon in Kenya through a video call, I’m reminded of just how amazing our world has become.
But I’m not talking about just convenience—I’m excited about the opportunity.
Did you know that by the year 2050, 40% of all Christians will live in sub-Saharan Africa? Think about that. Nearly half of the body of Christ is growing in a region that is poised for a gospel explosion. This is our chance to be part of something monumental—a global movement to share the gospel and nurture faith like never before.

Everywhere you look, people are using cell phones. By the year 2030—just six years away—1 billion more people will be connected. By then, 6.5 billion people around the globe—three-quarters of the world’s population—will have a mobile device subscription.
These phones are more than just tools for entertainment or shopping. They are gateways to communication, knowledge, and connection–and the gospel.
We are launching the rebuild of our Story App in February this year and I’m really excited about all the things that we can do, now! This app delivers a beautiful six-minute animation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, contextualized for different languages and cultures. It’s a simple yet profound way to bring the message of salvation to people, no matter where they are.
Imagine someone in a remote village in Africa or a bustling city in Asia—someone who may never hold a physical Bible in their hands—hearing the good news of Jesus Christ for the very first time. Not through a sermon, not through a book, but through their phone.
